Recalls for June 23, 2014

Good morning everyone.  Happy Monday!

We start the week with a substantial list of recalls from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  As usual issues include possible fires, brake and steering trouble and some not so common problems such as exhaust system trouble that might cause fire or asphyxiation. 

Other common issues include fastener failures, short circuits, air bag trouble and failed hoses that could result in burns.

Recalls for June 16, 2014

Happy Monday everyone!  In the Chicago area summer temperatures and humidity have arrived.  Make sure the cooling system in your car is up to the challenge.  Overheating an engine can ruin it in seconds.

Despite summer's heat the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued new recalls. Although the list is short the issues are important and could cause property damage, injury or worse.

Vehicle Safety Recalls For June 2, 2014

HAPPY MONDAY!  It's the start of another work week for those of us lucky enough to have a job.

In this country we have been designing, engineering and manufacturing vehicles for over 100 years.  It seems that after all of this time we should not have so many safety issues with vehicles.  Having said this vehicles are complex and automakers rely on suppliers to provide them with the parts they need to assemble a car or truck that quality control and other factors cause safety issues.

This week you'll see many examples of safety issues that will make you wonder how such a problem could develop.  First on the list is an issue with brake pads that can fall out.  This leads to a loss of brakes which is in excusable.  Other issues include but are not limited to steering that can loosen and missing locking rings on an axle.     

Please if your vehicle is affected by a recall please have it repaired as quickly as possible or park it until your shop can repair it.
