If you are the owner of a 2007-2010 Chrysler product pay attention. If the check engine light illuminates, and your technician finds code P2181, there may be an explanation. The code indicates a cooling system performance problem. If there are no other symptoms or diagnostic trouble codes, according to Chrysler it may be a false or ghost code. It likely is caused by glitches in the software. If so, reprogramming the powertrain control module should cure the issue.
Vehicles that may be affected by the ghost code are Sebrings, Avengers, Town and Country, Grand Voyager, Journeys, Challengers, Chargers and Chrysler 300s.
As with any warning light, even if your car seems to running fine, it is important to have your car checked A.S.A.P. as there could be a serious condition that could harm your vehicle.
