As you may know ethanol blended gasoline does not produce as much energy as gasoline that does not contain ethanol or methanol in the blend. This is fact and not fiction. The result is fewer miles traveled per gallon. In the near future gasoline will have 15 percent ethanol instead of 10 percent in the blend as we have become accustom to since the mid 1970s. This increase will reduce the number of miles we travel on a gallon even more.
The following news release from the Renewable Fuels Association explains what has been going on behind the scenes as we dig deeper in our pockets for more cash to pay for the ever rising cost of fuel which incidentally causes the price of just about everything we purchase to rise.
