More than 500 dealership personnel will gather at
Soldier Field to drive their first Dodge Dart back to dealerships for sale
across the Midwest. The attendees represent close to 300 dealerships in
Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Missouri, with some traveling
distances greater than 450 miles away to attend. The celebration of the Dodge
Dart – built at the Belvidere Assembly Plant in metro-Chicago, will be
commemorated by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn and Reid Bigland, Dodge Brand
President and CEO and Head of U.S. Sales.

About the Belvidere Assembly PlantThe Belvidere Assembly Plant located in Belvidere, Illinois was constructed in 1965. In October 2010, Chrysler Group announced that it would invest $600 million to support the production of future models, including the construction of a 638,000-square-foot body shop as well as the installation of new machinery, tooling and material handling equipment.
On Feb. 2, 2012, Chrysler Group announced that the original $600 million investment had increased to $700 million and that the plant would add 1,800 jobs by the third quarter of 2012, which includes nearly 500 for production of the all-new Dodge Dart. Dodge Dart production began April 30, 2012.
