If you are the proud owner of a 2006-2007 Saturn Ion with a 2.4-liter engine that runs rough, there may be a good reason for the trouble. When you take your car to a shop your technician may find trouble codes PO300 and or P1174 in the computer. If so, the injectors may be clogged with carbon or other material.
Your technician should perform a fuel injector balance test to verify the injectors are the cause of the trouble. If indeed they are at fault, the cure is to replace them with updated injectors. Cleaning will not cure the condition.
Once the new injectors are installed your technician will need to reprogram the engine module with new calibration files.
